My Lyric Book1.13.3 - App Store

Every singer as an A4 folder of songs they bring to rehersal, but now they can have all of their lyrics with them all the time. You can also create setlists of songs which can be edited and reordered. Setlists and individual songs shared with the rest of the band by email, iMessage, Airdrop, or printing them out.

Rather than searching online for other other people's versions of songs, this app displays your lyrics, which you've formatted as you want them (either on a computer or another app on your iPad). You can create them in Pages, Word, pdf, rtf or even jpg format then simply transfer them into the app. While initially designed for singers, PDF scores look amazing, so the whole band can get in on the act.

Not only does My Lyric Book remember your lyrics and set lists, but songs can be tagged with a tempo for the built in metronome, or linked to tracks in your iTunes library so you can refer to a recorded version or play a backing track from within the app. You can even send and receive midi patch changes, so selecting a song programs your keyboard for you (or have your lyrics selected for you via midi)!

If the rest the band is using the app too, then you can all sync up, so that the band leader can select songs and have them automatically selected on everyone's screens. (Note this DOES NOT distribute the lyrics, but selects each band member's version, so each band member can see their own parts as they've set up their devices). The app also automatically syncs with our backing track apps: My Playback and My Playback Solo.

Of course your lyrics look even better on an iPad, but an iPhone or iPod has plenty of screen space to display lyrics and you can always have it in your pocket.

You can use Airturn, Pageflip, M-Vave or other bluetooth pedals to scroll through your lyrics or select what each pedal does in the Settings app.

NOTE: No lyrics are included with the App. It displays lyrics you've already prepared. Lyrics can be added from a computer, via the Files app, or imported from other apps.

If this is important to you, DO NOT UPDATE. We'll have a fix out in the next few days. Other formats are (as far as we know) unaffected. If you're experiencing crashing go to the Settings app and under lyric book settings, enable "scrolling" PDF's.
Fix networking Bug in IOS10: This breaks compatibility with the old version, so networked song selection will no longer work between versions pre 1.9.3 and post 1.9.3. [Thanks for the patience, Chris].

There's also an option in Settings to display the "next song" name in the toolbar. So you can prepare for the next song before you turn the page. [Thanks to the user who suggested this! 1.8.7 features that should now work:
Midi Support - Send and Receive Patch changes for each song
Improved PDF and Pages Scrolling with foot pedals (for Jonathon Tylor)
Up/Down footpedal mode (for Pastor John - also try turning on "two finger swipe" and you should have everything you asked for!).

Midi is a big new feature, so can select a patch for each song (including optional bank changes), so you can either select a song in the app and have it configure your keyboard, or visa versa. Feedback on this feature would be greatly appreciated, as I'm still figuring out how you'd like it to work.

IMPORTANT: iOS 4 users. Unfortunately Apple's development tools don't make it possible to support both the new iOS 6 devices and the older iOS 4 devices at the same time. The new version requires iOS 5 or iOS 6. Specifically this means the new version won't work on an iPhone 3G or iPod Touch 2G.

We're really sorry about this - We've got a couple of older devices that still worked great, but we have little choice if we want to support the new iPhone 5. Users with older devices should hang onto the older 1.8.1 version. 1.8.2 10/25/2012 Short PDF documents are now displayed with page 1 on the left in two page view. Longer docs keep odd pages on the right (thanks Lawrence)
External pedals can have the option to advance to next/previous song with out scrolling (sorry I forgot who asked for this) 1.8.1 09/11/2012 While most of the time its best to handle lyrics as continuous text, sometimes they need to be page based. I recently worked on a show where the MD sent out scores as pdfs (the day before the show started!), and I quickly found out that the app needed to treat pdf as a special case.

PDF handling has been completely rewritten to give a really great page by page view. Just in case you don't love it as much as I do, the old style behaviour is still available as a preference (and on older devices which don't support page turns). 1.8 08/16/2012 Improved Airturn, and Pageflip Cicada support 1.7.7 07/19/2012 bug fix: Better memory management.

But with all the goodies from 1.7.5:
